why couldnt you just drill and tap the regular valley cover and put a fitting in it to vent it??

The idea of using the valley cover was so they could put a much bigger oil separation baffle system than could fit under the valve cover.

The longer and more convoluted the path that the oil mist has to take, the more of the mist will not escape.

I have the LS6 cover and plan on running three independant lines(valley cover, drivers valve cover and passenger valve cover) each with check-valves to an electric vacume pump which feeds into one common catch can. Then dump the catch can into the exhaust.

Passenger side rocker cover hose is routed to the maggie intake tube(bottom). Driver side rocker cover is plugged. Valley cover PCV is routed to back of J-tube for manifold vacuum. This set up uses NO oil and works fine for me.
