I think getting rid of the kit and doing what you are talking about would be a good decision.
Thats some good advise I agree. Putting all your **** on CC's can get you into some serious ****. It's real easy to buy stuff and alot harder to pay for stuff.

I hate to say this, but if you want to take imeadiate action and pay off debt quickily: Sell the goat, pay off the CC's and get a cheaper DD to roll around in. It seems a bit drastic, but I've had friends in the past do this and they were able to be back where they were within a year or so. I'm not much help though when it comes to CC's since I despise them.

I have always been pretty responsible with the CC too, I never carried a balance EVER in the 6 years I have had it until I had the first motor built. I just finished paying for then when TurboGibbs pulled this turbo kit off, and it was a good deal, so I jumped on it. I had just finished paying that off when I decided to fix the oil burning problem, and I put that on the CC too. Like Cody said, it was necessary to do that in order to get everything working right again. I was planning on having that all paid for in a few months, but a lot of little things have come up that I wasn't planning on and now I haven't been able to make any progress paying it off. I really think that selling the kit is going to be the answer here. I can get back to ground zero and start over from there, and make sure I have the cash up front for any future mods.

Don't feel too bad. When my truck goes down for various "upgrades" I drive one of my dad's company trucks. Granted I have to maintain it and return it in better condition, but I don't pay him for it. Be thankful you have a family that loves and takes care of you that much. That's really cool IMO.
I say, sit tight and hang in there. Don't sell anything and don't do anything drastic. Park it if you must. Save you beans, mooch off the gf a little eat some ramin, drink Keystone light to help pay off the CC and wait till May..Like Pink Floyd said, "Get a good job with more pay and your okay." When's Kyle coming back down? You could sell your kit and he could build you a manifold in exchange for rent or sex or something.
