Default T4 turbos?

I know you generally hear about the T4 turbos in the import world a lot. Are they way too small to do a simple low boost set up on my "06 5.3 Tahoe? There are two listed for $60 for the pair supposedly brand new. I am intelligent enough to look and see if they are at least in good shape so I am no concerned about that.

What I am concerned about is what does "T4" mean. Are there different sizes? And ultimately will I be able to make 8-12 psi of boost on my 5.3 using two of them?

Sorry I obviously know little about the turbo parts world. I have a good concept of using them to make power but don't know a T4 from a XJY.

Here are the turbos I am looking at http://toledo.craigslist.org/pts/3006272775.html.

Well T4 is the flange size, doesnt tell ya much about the turbo itself other then its a T4. You need to know the actual turbo size. Judging by the pictures they are small, how small I am not sure. You plan to build a Twin Turbo kit?

Yup, T4 is just the size of the exhaust flange. The turbo itself can range greatly in size and still have a T4 flange. Most of the turbos guys are running on the 4.8-6.0L GM cars/trucks are T4 flanged.

I plan to build a turbo kit. If I can buy two small turbos for $60 that will work then I will build a twin kit. If I buy a new or more spcific to my plans I will get a 70 something mm turbo and run a single.

Yeah, not sure I'd trust that...at all. lol

The vast majority of small block V8 guys run T4 turbos. I guarantee one of them will be more than enough for anything you'll ever need.

you can make over 1000whp on a t4 frame easy. all depends on the compressor, turbine and a/r. S480 comes in a T4 and will flow 120lbs/min and has optional 87mm turbine with housings up to 1.25 a/r
