Default Stupid Piping....only 498HP to the wheels..

Well, we tuned and dyno'd the truck friday. Geoff at EPS got the idle and part throttle perfect with the FAST 65lb injectors I had, but we blew off the piping on EVERY pull! The tune still isnt finished for WOT yet though, but it made 498 to the ground without a clean pull. Dont bother asking what TQ or IDC were or anything like that, because honestly, I didnt even bother looking. I was so aggravated with the piping blowing off, and tired because Geoff and I were there working on it from 11am to pretty much 11pm. But, Im happy with what we got out of it considering what kept happening. Im bead rolling and welding up all my piping starting this week, and I'll post an update when I finally get it all done and back on the rollers. Thanks to everybody who helped with the questions I've had with my build over the last few months!!

Damn How much boost are you running? Are you using aluminum cold pipes or steel? Tbolt clamps or just hose clamps?

Its just mild aluminum piping, and no, like an idiot I didnt bead roll any of it before hand. So, it just slides off the end. Its getting taken care of already. I just talked to my buddy and he is gonna weld together as much of it as we can, and bead roll and T-Clamp the remainder. Its at 10psi as of now, but it would hit around 8psi and blow off.

Yep, the piping has to have something to hold on to. And the tighter you make the clamp with out either bead roll, or welded strips, the worse it can become.
Good thing you got it somewhat figured out, and soon will get rid of that problem, so you can go back and see what it really has in it.
Good thing you are taken care of it, if you keep popping hoses while under boost, can over rev the turbo.
Nice numbers

Yea, I tightend one of the T-clamps so much that it started to collapse the pipe. And I'll be happy with the numbers when it actually breaks the 500 mark! lol

That's the problem with aluminum piping, it HAS to be bead rolled. It's to soft and will crush were aluminized steel pipe won't crush and you can get away with out bead rolls. I bead roll all my stuff now whether it need is or not.

But nice numbers

yea that can happen with when you over tighten it. Aluminum being so much lighter then steel. You should always put something there a bead roll, or a welded bead around the tubing. So many times over the years I have seen in many applications from tranny, water, fuel, and boosted connections. A simple little hump is all that is need to stop the part from sliding apart. Also make sure that you do not have it in a bind or stretching it in any way.

Good luck with goal, pretty much there just get over this little hick up.
