Default STS Turbo Oiling Ideas

Ok i havent gotten the kit yet to look at it close, but i have been thinking a good bit. I know it is suppose to tap into the Oil Port Boss on the driver side of the block, and i think it returns back to the Oil Fill Cap.

What i was thinking, I know a guy that welds aluminum. I can get a decent sized box built as a resivor. I can get a decent sized Cooler or something. But i now realized one reason they use the Motor oil from the motor. Im sure it warms up sooner in the motor vs. Circulating in the turbo, cooler, resivor.

If i went this route i have a OIL TEMP gauge im goin to mount the sensor before or after the turbo, not sure. Also if i used the Remote Resivor i got to figure out a way to mount a filter.

Anybody know what OIL PUMP the STS kit uses? how many PSI and GPM does it put out? I can have a better knowledge about it sometime this week when i get home and put my hands on it.

What are yalls opinion on this?
It could be more of a Pain to build and work vs plumb it up like the instructions say. But how long would it take to get the oil warmed up? For sure i would use MOBIL 1 or Royal Purple? but what weight? how much oil for the resivor?

So many questions....

Thanks guys!

Ill be installing mine two weekends form now. Im getting a fitting welded onto the oil pan for the return so I dont have to go through the oil filler cap. Allen Nelson said oyu can jsut drill and tap a brass barb fitting into the oil pan instead of doing what I am but I like the fact that welding an AN fitting on there I can run braided stainless return line and not have to worry about shavings in the oil pan. You could pull the pan off your truck very easily since you are 2wd.

ok, thanks cody.
How thick is the oil pan, i dont want it to vibrate out, haha, i got some more research to do.
and how far from the bottom of the pan are you planning on gettin the fitting?
I am plannin on gettin something else besides the rubber hoses that it comes with, Dockrocker has some type of plumb work on his tranny and fuel lines. I cant remember what its called, it is rubber but with a SS braided wrap on the outside.

Where are you gettin the SS line from??

Getting the 3/8 line from Richard form WCCH along with all my fittings for my intake and the fitting for the oil pan. The oil pan is probably 1/8th inch thinck just guessing havent measured it. Im putting it above the anti-slosh plate. You will see what Im talking about when you pull the pan off. I have seen too many cases of people having oil get blown all over their engine compartment due to crankcase pressure.
