Depending how high up you are in NY will really dictate how the prochager performs. I had a procharger on my truck, 10 psi, 3000 stall etc. I bet it would have only pulled a mid 15 at best. Running the turbo now at the same boost is way stonger than the procharger was.

hmmm....sounds like more and more are favoring the front mount setup when my tranny gets done this spring (if it lasts that long) im gonna drop in a 2600 stall and i havnt decided on gears yet either 4.30's or 4.56's seeing as how i do drive alot but with 33's i dnt think there overkill at all how complete are the front mount kits ???? ive never rebuilt a motor or tranny but im not stupid when it comes to wrkin on trucksis the front mount still a basic set up and how much welding is required ?? im in the middle of newyork just south of albany so i get bad winters and 100 degree summers all you front mount guys with a good intercooler do ur trucks get to hot sitting in traffice for hours in the hot sun also i need to keep my a/c intact you guys are great thanx for the info so far

If you want reliability and good power go with the sts. If you plan on really getting crazy with things then I would go with a front mount turbo or my personal favorite...procharger. You need to look at what you want to do with it and if you are the type of person who is going to keep upping the bar.

im not going to keep wanting more ive got a project to start after i get the truck the way i want it(2nd gen rx-7 with an ls1) want the truck in low 13's to high 12's very reliable for long trips and towing in very bad winter and hot hot summers the main thing that scares me about the sts is possible baning it up under the truck

Oh you'll NEVER hit it on anything it mounts up higher then the frame rails. Put the snorkel kit on it and put the air filter some ware up out of the way and you never have to worry about it. I put 40+k miles on my STS kit and never had any real problems with it, and I live in BFE Wyoming.

To me the procharger is not suited for towing. Some sort of turbo system or one of the positive displacement blowers would be right up your alley in my opinion.

I have the snorkel kit, but I've never put it on, hell I launch my boat with NO problems, plus at 4,000 foot we see snow nov-march

Another vote for STS, unless you are not going to tow, then it would be front-mount...

The trick kit is pretty complete, all you will need is injectors, tuning, and I/C. No welding required depending on how your I/C setup is.

I towed my 6,000 lb. trailer in the middle of summer 100 deg. heat, with stop and go traffic and a.c. running. Tranny got alittle warm but what would you expect with a stall. Im putting fans on the intercooler and tranny cooler to avoid this problem next summer.

I tow my boat every weekend and have had 0 problems with my radix kit. You may want to check them out, I live in LA so there is lots of stop and go traffic and ac running in 100+ days and plenty of power. I also like the radix kits because they are very simple you don't have a bunch of piping and fittings under the truck.
