I say front mount, then sts, then procharger. I had a procharger before the Trick Front mount. The procharger worked great!, just not as great as the Front mount. I like turbo's better then blowers. I also tow a 6-8000 lb. enclosed trailer with mine.

IMO, you should not run any kind of forced induction unless it is intercooled first of all. if it doesnt come standard with the kit, add one. the sts or whipple doesnt come IC standard. the sts has the option of adding a IC to the kit. for the whipple you are on your own.

front mount turbo - once you spool the turbo you have max power to redline, and the more engine load, the better it spools. it is located under the hood and can create additional heat but it normally isnt an issue.

rear mount turbo - same as front mount but it has a bit more lag (time to spool) and it is located under the truck so it is susceptible to outside elements.

centrifugal supercharger - it builds boost with rpm at a linear rate, so the more rpms you have the more boost you have but dont have as much down low as the turbo or positive displacement SC. also has some parasitic drag although it has been argued that a turbo also has loss because of exhaust restriction.

positive displacement supercharger - it makes max boost at a low rpm and holds it until redline. also has some parasitic drag explained earlier.

with the procharger set up in my truck of course intercooled (2004 ecsb 4wd on 285's) with a built tranny and stock 3.73's would low 13's be a good possibility?????????? id like to get my truck around there and still be real world reliable ( 6hr road trips to the summer house) or should i be looking more towards the radix or turbos rather then a procharger??? i just really like the whole procharger set uo a friend of mine is running one on his cobra mustang and after tunning made 568 to the wheels sounds awsome runs great and easy to install just wanna make sure it'll get me where i want to be high 12's or low 13's

A lot of mustangs and even vettes have had great success with procharger although at higher boost levels, the vette kit I have heard has had belt problems but their are aftermarket bracket kits to solve that. On a light weight vehicle a centrifugal can be great due to traction issues. On my truck I went with a rear mount turbo just because I live in Texas (no offence to anyone that chose something different). The summer heat really can cause underhood temps to be more of a problem than I wanted on a daily driver. Also I can pull it off and bring it back to stock in the future when it's time for a new truck. You live in NY, so IMO I like the front mount like Trick or the TVS if you can wait that long...nothing wrong with the Mag 112 though, more than a few trucks are haulin' some *** with those.

IMO, I don't think you will get low 13's out of that truck with only a base prochager setup. You would need a high stall and at lease 10psi. Ya they make the peak numbers, but since they don't make full boost, till shift, they have less hp "under the curve" (average power).

Granted, my truck is only a 4.8, but I couldn't get to low 13's to high 12's with the STS (which will get you there better then a Procharger) until I had a 11psi, intercooler, cam, stall, meth, and a lot of tuning. Now with my front mount turbo, I should be good for mid 12's on 11-12 psi. Oh, and my truck is a DD and VERY reliable

I would go with a front mount turbo, if possible. If emissions are an issue for you, then a screw type supercharger, or rear mount turbo would be best. If you wan't to run fast with a procharger you will need at least a 4k stall, and 4.56+ gears. Without the stall, and gears you could be stuck in the high 13- low 14's with a centrifical.

I only know of one truck personally that has a Procharger... it sounds like a Altenator bearing goin bad...

I love my STS... but this is my first encounter with any type of Aftermarket Forced Induction..
And i do tow with it... it gets alot of attention cause it sounds like a airplane taking off

Yea it has a bit of Lag to it but for a DD i dont see why thats a problem.. I hope to hit a 13.5 next time at the track... and thats on 5psi...

But my decision would be STS if i had to do it again...
