Yes you can use the nipple on the passenger side or the hose to the brake booster or the line from the PCV valve to the intake mainfold on the driver's side for your boost reference. I prefer the nipple on the passenger side. The line to control the waste gate from the intake manifold or compressor snail should go to the base of the waste gate. The line to the top of the waste gate is to raise the boost on your Hi-Boost setting of your boost control. On my STS with no IC I run from the compressor snail to the base fitting on the waste gate with a T fitting in the line to the boost control. Then the boost line from the boost control is run to to the top of the waste gate. The line to the top of the waste gate applies boost pressure to the waste gate to hold it closed longer and allow the turbo to build more boost to the engine. If your boost control sets both low and hi boost settings then both lines from the control will be run to the appropriate fittings on the waste gate (refer to the manufacturer's instructions).

Thanks Mort. I am coming off the compressor instead of running a long line from the intake also. But I am using an I/C. Maybe that is what is giving me trouble. Under acceleration I am just not seeing above 5 psi no matter what I do to my electronic boost controller and it is driving me nuts!! Again, thanks for the reply!!

You may have other problems with the controler. But if you have a IC. I would recommend running a hose to the manifold for the Wastegate.

Thanks for the reply Wilde Racing! I am starting to believe I need to run the line from the manifold to the boost controller solenoid also. I guess the I/C is robbing enough boost that there is quite a large differential between the compressor and the actual manifold. So I will hook the solenoid up just like the AEM instructions depict with the addition of the manifold referenced line and go from there. This whole thing is causing the mighty doofus to eat large quantities of Tums!!!!!!!!! Thanks again!!

That way you don't have to worry about any pressure drop in the IC you can just adjust till the boost in the intake is what you are looking for. I also think you may have some problems with your boost control but try the line from the intake to the waste gate first to eliminate that as a problem. If it all seems like it should then hook your boost control back up and trouble shoot from there.

Thanks for the second reply Mort! Yeah, I need to find some hose and try the manifold reference. I guess I could use some fuel line, but I would rather find some silicon tubing. Thanks again for the help!

The hose needs to be thick walled. Something that can handle boost/vac, with-out distorting.

I have found some fairly thick wall silicon, but maybe fuel line would be better. The fuel line does have a thicker wall. Thanks for your input!!

I just finished changin' my boost reference to the manifold. I used an old piece of Air Compressor hose. It worked great and costs less than fuel line. I got the idea from others on this forum.

You know, that really is a good idea. I have some new hose in the shop I could use. You have an STS with Meth injection I see, so how did yours turn out? Do you have an electronic boost controller or another type? What did your truck do before and after you changed the boost reference? Do you get instant boost that climbs under acceleration? Any input is appreciated!! Thanks for the reply!!
