Default STS mods... owners come in

So what are the usual mods that you guys are doing? First and foremost are you guys running longtube headers or stock manifolds and Y pipes? Are you guys going with reverse split cams or what? What kind of exhaust setups are you running after the turbo? Are you using that header wrap on the headers to keep the heat in there? What injectors are you guys with the GT67 an up running? Are you simply using an inline pump or are you upgrading the intake as well. Im going to finish up ordering everything this Fri for the new setup. Im not sure how long it will take me to take off the vortech, pull the motor, install the new motor, and then the STS, but Im looking very forward to it!! From there it goes to get the new 4L80, 3.07 gears and eaton installed!! Im thinking I may sell the Pacesetters and Y and simply cut the cats off and reweld the Y to the Thorleys and keep them.... or should I look for stock manifolds and a Y?

hi, i am running the stock exhaust, no muffler after the turbo,i dont use header wrap, dont need it, plus header wrap is for race cars cause it holds the moisture in it and will rust out the pipe its covering so if this is an every day driver i dont think i would.i used a radix in tank fuel pump,255lph i believe,on your exhaust, do whatever is easier, but you dont need headers, this kit is designed for the stock exhaust.you defintley need injectors, i have the multec 44# inj and they should be fine for the gt 67. get the intercooler!! it brings out the most of this kit, even at 5-6#s.intercooler and fuel system upgrades a must, people bitch about having to spend extra but at least you can add these things when you have the cash and have some fun while you save.also youll need a tune(nelson performance or your own or dyno)good luck and just take your time on the in stall, youll love it!

I already have the multec's. Im curious if I will need the mototron 60# with the GT67. I have an intercooler already. I'll be using a meth system as well. Im going to run 10# on the street, but I may go with the E boost controller so that I can turn it up if need be. Ive got HPTuners and the LC1 wideband and the LC1 gauge. The parts list is getting long

I have the punched out cats, stock exhaust manifolds, and a split flow muffler at the tail pipe. FMIC, meth for some more degrees of timing, and 42lbs inj. I still have room to go on the injectors. Just an 02 Zo6 cam I have 317 heads for lower compresion est. 8.7:1. I pulled my 4.8 and 5 speed, put in the 5.3, 6 speed, and turbo in 3 weekends, If I can do it, You should be able to do it in your sleep. I never installed a clutch before this. I also used a inline fuel pump.

You may want to go ahead and get the 60 lb injectors to start with Troy. If you don't you will run out of injector for the power you are looking for. An in tank 255 lph and a boost a pump will be needed to feed the injectors.

What he said. A 255 and a boostapump will work great. As for the inj. How much motor will you have? It doesn't allways come down to how much boost you want to run, the motor plays a big part. One of are cars has a 402 w/ sts and at 6psi he is way out of inj.(42's) If you have big plans go for big parts it will save you money in the long run.

As for exhaust after the turbo.... the more flow the better. I would put some pipe after the turbo but, keep it 3in or bigger. If you don't use any pipe it sounds like there is a plastic bag is over the turbo.

You will see the biggest difference with a cam and 3000+stall. I've seen big boost cars get out run buy low boost cars w/ a stall.

As for injectors with the 67 I question how far you could push it, I know I was getting 103% duty cycle on my injectors with the sig below. This was at around 8-9lbs.

Do I just need to order a Walbro 255lph intank pump or is there something more that I need to specify? This and an inline pump should cut it? I guess I'll go ahead and get the 60lb mototrons as well. I think I remember someone saying that the inj constant used is 70. Does this sound right? I guess now would be a good time to see why I have to jumpstart my truck EVERYTIME I start it when I just put a new (2nd) optima in there 2 months ago. Could my alt be fried or do you think it could be something else?
So just some 3" piping after the turbo?? Sounds good to me! Do I need to dump it or does it matter?

I plan on going with a reverse split turbo cam. Cam motion had one that looked good. I'll also be going with a PI 3200 for the 4L80. That may wait a while though as this is going to be very expensive to do all at once!!

i got my fuel pump from magnuson for a radix, it was 120$ delivered , does your tahoe sit a lot between use? my truck sits in the garage most of the week and some times the battery is low, i think the computer and some other elec items drain the battery, my uncles 2002 corvette does the same but dies also and needs jumped.
