STS Install Question
#1
I am preparing to install the STS Turbo Kit for my Yukon XL. Looking over the instruction manual (diagram 4 page 12), it talk about splicing into the grey wire from the fuel pump relay. My questions is what is the purpose of slicing this wire? There is no upgrade box that increase voltage to my fuel pump like the boost a pump. I am upgrading to Walbro pump and msd 42# injectors. Also how does the computer know when to deliver more fuel without a FMU? Does Nelson's flashed ECU throw extra fuel at a certain power band to cover the vehicle going to boost? Will the fuel delivery be quick enough to react to the sudden increase of boost? Any help will be appreciated.

I have a STS turbo on my Ram and I spliced into the fuel pump relay also although it was a different color. It primes your oil pump when you turn the ignition and supplies the power to the same at least on the Rams. The hobbs switch switches the oil pump to high when it reads 1 psi.

Ya, the fuel pump wire is used to operate a relay that turns the oil pump on. The reprogrammed PCM from Nelson is set up to add more fuel and reduce timing when you get into boost. These, PCM are VERY adjustable.
