Ya, the cats make a BIG difference. I really liked the way my truck sounded with them, but it's just to loud and annoying with out them but it spools faster and makes more power with out them. Oh and I'm getting about 2 MPG better mileage too. Just got to be able to live with it in the long term.

I say you go with a cutout of some type. Be it that warlock muffler you posted or just a performance muffler with a cutout. I've heard that turbos hate back pressure after the turbine, so if there's anyway to minimize that at the track....do it.

I would just flange a muffler like some else said. You'll be undoing bolts for the cutout (assuming its not electric), so you might as well undo the whole muffler. Same amount of bolts and you'll get a weight savings too.

I'm in the middle of my exhaust fab. I had a 12" glass pack installed after the axle, but it didn't help enough. I also had a cut-out installed after the turbo. (just got my QTP e-cut-out)
I did notice a 2 psi drop (@12psi) in boost after the muffler was install.

Its about time you came back around here Where the heck have you bin

I was wondering what you did with yours. I know you gutted your cats a while back and thought it was going to be too loud when you were towing. But then you never said if you did any thing about it, I guess not

I would leave mine, if it wasn't louder with the window up then down on the high way.

Well, I think I found a used Warlock like the one I pictured before in the thread i can get for cheap, so I will probably throw it on there and see how I like it. It made the most HP when uncaped then any other muffler and no mufler in a test poll I found on here.

Ok, I thought I would give you guys an update on what I did. I got a useds 3in 3out warlock muffler from a member on here for $35 shipped . Cleaned it up and painted it. I installed on the stock tail pipe right after the axle. Would like to have a little more to the right so I could have mounted it level, but this is how it came out. Worked out really well, and I like the sound MUCH better. I can still uncork it when I got o the the dyno, or the track too like last night

Any way we could hear a sound clip? Does anyone know what the factory muffler without the cats sounds like?
