Default STS guys with FMIC

Show me some pics of how you have your piping routed and if possible a list of the couplers/bends you used. Im installing the kit this weekend but itnever hurts to have some extra visual help.

If you can, eliminate as many couplers as you can (weld them up). You lose flow with each silicon gidget, and for what you're planning, it will make a difference.

I'm probably going to end up with 3 couplers from turbo to intercooler (1 at the turbo, 1 in the middle, 1 at the intercooler).

For now Im going for ease of installation, the pipe that goes from where the MAF would be Im going to get the 45 welded there then go across to the core support the two 45s down then 90 into the I/C, Ill get the that pipe with all the bends welded since it will be easy. When I go for bigger numbers later on down the road Im going to build my own front mount. At a later date I will try to eleminate some of the couplers.

I was reading through my instructions lastnight, and the FMIC installation looks VERY straight forward. Best I can tell, if you ordered the kit from STS the parts only go together one way, a few couplers and one extra pipe (intake charge pipe). Even mounts to factory holes. I'll know more when I get into it.

But do you really have to cut the front valence on the truck? I talked to Allen at Nelson performance about the FMIC on the front mount turbo setup and he said cutting the valence is not really needed. He said there is so much turbulence (spelling) in that front area the ones that are not cut run about 10* warmer IAT than ones that are cut? Now I know that they are 2 different setups but if your only running 6.5# of boost I, myself do not see needing to cut the front valence. BTW westbayou I visit Sarasota every year (Siesta Key to be exact) awesome place and great vacation spot.

Just had mine installed- two things you'll want to know. First, you won't need to cut anything...the black plastic piece that is in the front valence comes out by removing some screws. Second, because you have an 07', the notoriously low STS I/C will be hidden by the front spoiler (05'-07' classics have a longer front "spoiler" that sits lower than the 04' and prior). I'm very impressed by the amount of airflow the I/C gets...much more than you would think.

It's on a cheapy Bosch bypass valve off a Volvo I'm using as a BOV. Its open under vac, so I put the breather on it to keep the dirt out.
