Default STS guys, any tips for installation?

Ill be installing some of the kit this weekend and the rest next weekend. I have read through the instructions pretty well and I think I have a good understanding of how everything is suppose to go together. Any tips or things that you found made the install go better or things you would different instaling the kit. Besides a lift sicne I dont ahve access to one. How difficult was it to tap the oil pan where it says to. I havent looked at that area of the oil pan thats why Im asking.

i bought my kit used and didn't have directions to go by and it was still pretty straight forward. Its definetly pretty easy to install so i dont think you'll have any problems.

Good luck with it.

Take the passenger side wheel off and remove the inner fender plastic. It will help you get the pipe oriented better to keep the pipes from rubbing when your tires go lock to lock.
It also is a lot easier to get all the clamps on as well.
The couplers around the MAF blew off on mine after the first run I made, don't be afriad to tighten them up good. I was afraid I'd crack the MAF husing but its tougher than you'd think.
Make sure you run the engine with the oil supply line off the turbo for a minute to get any stray chips or crap out of the hose so it doesn't end up in the turbo. Don't rev the engine with the turbo line off, just let it bleed out a cup or so to make sure the line is clear of debris.

Return line goes to oil cap, oil feed line goes from next to the oil filter on the pan to the turbo. Standalone oil system would be a MAJOR pita you would still need the pump and you would need a cooler too. Isnt worth the trouble IMO.

Do you have a oil cooler for that 6.0? If it just a block off plate It is easier to pull the two bolts and put it in a vise to drill and tap. I also mounted the crank case solinoid thingy to the rear fuel rail bolt rather than the front. Make sure you bolt the ground wire to it!

When you tap that oil block off plate use a smaller drill than the recommended tap drill size for a 1/8-27 pipe thread. The metal is VERY soft and prone to oversizing very easily if using a hand drill or even a drill press. Better tight than loose I say!!
