Default Stock block. How many #'s

First off im new to turbo's so be easy on me guys. Just wanting to see how much boost some guys are running on stock bottom end. I have a 5.3 myself with a cam and all the supporting mods. Was planning on running 10#s. with a goal of at least 450 hp. Would like 500 but not sure if I can push it that far.

A stock bottom end can hold that and quite a bit more. If 500 is your goal then you will be more than okay. Personally I am more afraid of detonation problems than the bottom end letting go. Check around the site you will find many people running a stock short block. This is not to say forged is not good insurance just not completely necessary. I am sure people on here can chime in with real numbers to give you a better idea. Good luck and enjoy!
