Yes,that is the drain.Have drilled pans many times for drains but ussually over the oil level sender.I tried this spot from Nelsons advise.There is plenty of room there,just load the bit up with grease to get the shavings.I also use a step bit,the kit uncludes the bit and tap but I was too lazy to break out the 1/2 drill to hold the bit.(kit needs a turned down shaft 9/16 bit)

The drain is... uhh... unique. I suppose it works if its been recommended. Please give us your honest feedback if you experience problems with it. Otherwise it certainly looks like an extremely simple and accesible point to tap the pan for drain.

Thats the same problem I had. Taking the old **** off was a bitch. putting the new **** on was eeeaaassy!. Intercooler was a bitch! my main problem was clearing the fan and alternator, go too high over the alternator then the hood won't close. She'll be fun when she's all done!
