Default Speed Density Question

so I’m doing a complete build...5.3 with forged internals and a torqstorm superharger. Truck is an 03 dbw. From all the research I have done on here it seems that my pcm maxes out at 12k hz so speed density is needed u like the newer vehicles. All I need is an IAT sensor wired into the MAF IAT pins, delete the maf from the tune, and run either a 2 or 3 bar map correct? Would this map be acceptable? This is also the IAT I was gonna run. If not can someone point me in the right direction?

I don't know about that MAP specifically, but when I did SD on my 02, I used a 2bar from a Regal GS. Put a barbed adapter in the intake, ran a small 1/4" line to the MAP from the barb, used zip ties as clamps and she's held 12psi and maybe about 60k mi at this point.

That MAP you linked if the cal tables are available should clip right into your intake, some of the wires may need to change spots.

I used that IAT with a bung right at the elbow into the TB

What you link should work as long as you get the MAP parameters correct (you'll have to change them).

For me when I went SD, I used a breakout harness. Easier/cleaner IMO.

2bar vs 3bar, from what i understand, just depends on how much boost you plan to run. if staying under 15psi (14.7psi = 2 atmospheres [bar]), that sensor should be fine, but more than that should use a 3bar. if you run a 3bar when only planning low boost, you're essentially wasting sensor resolution by leaving unused reading range for boost levels you won't hit.

The Bosch sensor you provided a photo to is from an LSA, requires a difference plug and moving a few wires, and is 3 bar. The Cobalt SS sensor uses the same plug, just change 2 MAP sensor settings in the calibration.

I don’t see myself running more than 12 pounds so ya I’m gonna go with the cobalt ss sensor. And it looks like it will fit directly into the tbss intake also. I’ll be running a torqstorm supercharger so not sure if the boost level there and I think it comes with one pulley. I guess I’ll see when it gets here, if it ever gets here. Ordered it over 3 weeks ago.

Let's see what a Torqstorm is capable of.

Yes I suggest going with the Cobalt 2 bar sensor. Plug and play. Will need to be tuned.
