So does an 8 rib set up solve the problem?
#1
of throwing belts? This is getting old, no test & tune tonight! I need to solve this problem once and for all. Just changed another belt along side the road, I did notice that the alternator case is starting to crack that might be contributing too. So anyway does the 8 rib really get rid of slipping and stretching the belt? Who's got the best prices?

Proper belt alignment is crucial! are the pulleys running true? I used a gates laser alignment tool and so far my once easily thrown 8-rib belt stays put.
I dont think it matters how big a belt you go if they are not aligned.

Where do you get one? They don't look too bad but the alt always seemed like it was tilted back just slightly. What did it take to align them?

Well think I found the problem, the pushlock tube for the meth wasn't seated and was spraying pure methanol all over the belt. Would never had known it but the water stains on the polished intake tube!. Did check the alignment of the pulleys with a straight edge and seemed ok......... Did a search for that laser alignment tool and found it for a 128.00 bucks so I might pick one up. Still get a little slip but it maintains 12lbs boost so the 8 rib will have to wait.
