I understand there is a trade off for having the TVS blower. I was really just addressing the instant torque side of the comment. There really is no comparison. Even a tune that is just as safe by maggie standards will be night and day different as far as the power he has available instantaneously under his pedal. I was only aiming to say that even with a tune that is gnats *** spot on and on the ragged edge with a turbo it will never have the snap a PD blower does.

my tune was safe, this was the first FI vehicle i ever tuned and i took it slow. I left it where i was happy with it and it stayed that way for roughly 1.5 years without an issue. like i mentioned it was a fun experience, i learned alot, it is just time to move on to something different.

looking back would i turbo my truck again, probably not.

What we should really be talking about here is the amount of snap it will have at 25-30% throttle...

I know its a little different comparison, but my 11:1 408 with the tvs1900 only making about 7psi and stock heads with a mild cam would spin 35s on a 6400lb truck with about half throttle. Was a torque monster and was super responsive and fun to drive. My turbo setup literally made twice as much power but wasnt as fun to drive around town. Now the whipple with the direct port should be the best of both

Stock crank pulley and the smallest one they made for the 1900, 2.8 or so I think.

Heres a little video I have of giving it about half throttle at about 30mph. Keep in mind it was a very heavy lifted truck.

Yea I remember it. I wonder how it would have performed with the pulley combo I have.

A little bit better probably, but I think I was overspeeding the blower as it was anyway.

If that's about 1/2 throttle, that's about the most responsive throttle I've seen. Hell of a combo for a DD.
