I'm with you on wanting to try a supercharger. I want 10s first.and I know the turbo will give me a better shot than a roots.
Yeah i am kinda opposite in the sound. I would rather not draw attention to myself.

I think the last straw was when my boost controller started to die. Without it my truck makes 5psi, when it works it makes 14psi. Massive difference in power. It pisses me off when i hammer it and it only makes 5psi.

What boost controller were you running?

For such low boost why did ya even run a boost controller in first place?

Also was you using c02 or manifold pressure for the ams500

Also a blower will be heard, so you'll get attention towards ya

As for torque how lazy was the tune?
What cam as that makes a difference

because i wanted to run 2 different boost levels, i know 14psi is low to you but for normal people it is enough

manifold pressure

but not as bad as the turbo

the tune was good IMO, i sure someone could find some issues with it

C02 gives far more control then manifold pressure

A lazy tune will make a turbo setup doggy and no bottom end

That 14 is enough for normal ppl made me laugh and smile...thanks I haven't done that in While

So now you want a blower what psi do you plan to target?
I'm sure you're aware but can't swap boost levels with a blower so how do you plan to have different power levels?

Curious you ran 14 psi what timing did you run and afr?

What timing did you hAve at 1.0 g/cly

Yep i have read up on C02, i was just not interested in going that route..

yep i know i can't easily swap to different boost levels like i did with the turbo setup. i bought the controler because i just wanted to run 2 different level. 99% of the time i had it on the high setting. it was just a feature to mess with upping the boost was a simple as turning the little screws.

it had good bottom end in and out of boost, i just want more... after riding in several CTSVs (i know they will be different than my truck), i like the instant TQ.

Glad i made you laugh on 14psi,

I dunno on the max i will go with the blower. It is a TVS2300 and it shipped with a 3.4 pulley, i am ordering a overdrive crank pulley and installing it when i swap cams.

timing ramped down kinda like this

0psi 23*, afr
2psi 19
4psi 18
6psi 17
8psi+ 16*

AFR ramped down from ~12.2 at 0psi then settling on 11-11.2 at 8psi.

I don't have a log handy to get you exact grams/cyl but that is basically how it is tuned. I tried a bunch of different combinations with the timing, that is where i felt comfortable.

Basically i just wanna try something different. I have never owned/driven a SC truck, so i am curious how it will work and drive. the turbo was fun but just time to try something else. I put roughly 300-400miles on my truck a week and i drove the turbo setup for 2+ years. During that whole time i had a DD that i never drove because i liked driving my truck.

In a couple of years i will switch things up again. This is just what i do... **** money away but i have fun learning what different things do. I prefer to learn from my personal hands on experience.

While I agree with you, George, that there is room to remove laziness in a tune where boost ramps in, but it will NEVER compare to instant boost. Dont make it sound like a turbo spooling is the effect of a tune being wrong.

Corey doesn't hold himself out there as a professional tuner, but im sure the truck was dialed in.

There's a trade off to instant boost, and it's called dying off like most small blowers do
Now when you toss in larger PD blowers you lose instant and start to move boost later in power and

Now as for tune being dialed in, the numbers he stated above are safe but is also kinda soft

Example 8 psi afr target 11.8-12.0
Example 0 boost 26-28*

It's all about running start with a turbo setup

Now you can also have instant torque with a turbo but at the cost of power later

Also have to realize torque too soon and can bust rods when power is turned up

But for him wanting to try new things that can be appreciated

I've had PD blower setups, turbo setups and centrif setups ....one of my dailys is procharged and once I can unload it I plan to turbo the setup....tired of the rpm based boost
