Default So 10psi is max on a stock engine...

But what gives in if you still run say 12-16 psi on a stock 5,3?

So this will happen on the #7 even if one is using a Radix, wich cure the #7 problem by a better manifold desing? (or so one has been informed elswere on this forum.)

Looking at the piston, it does not look anything near as a ping-meltet Saab piston looks.
There fore I draw the conclusion that the combustion pressure simply "drives the piston beyond it´s specification", to the point of disintegration.
i.e. this is not a ping/knock problem.

Correct?

how exactly do you plan to get 12-16psi on a 5.3 with a radix?

right now the only way to do it is a MP122HH, and im not sure on that

The 112 would do it if the factory parts would support it. 5.4L lightnings are running 16-17 psi.

You can run more than 10psi, but do it on a daily basis with 10-15000 miles a year and expect problems. The two vehicles mentioned above are not driven daily, and I think that's an important factor when saying if it'll live or not. Seeing 20psi daily is a lot more taxing than once a week or twice a month.

Either way, your tune has to be dead on ***** accurate.

Absolutely, from what the smarter people on here keep saying it's all about the tune and the fuel. I wouldn't do 20 on the street, most like 15 though.
