Default Size fitting for sts return oil line?

Instead of doing the return line for the sts to thevalve cover Im going to runit back into the oil pan. I need to know what fitting I need to weld onto the oil pan since Im swpping motors this weekend and its PITA to get the oil pan off in a 4wd.

Nope, that's the feed. The return STS uses is a 3/8 rubber line. That would be a -6AN if your going to steel braided or rubber push to fit.

1slow01Z71, you still going to use the STS return pump to get the oil back to the pan?
It would be nice if we had a better way to get the oil back with out a pump, not sure if that's even possible. Would a higher outlet from the turbo enable you to gravity feed the used oil from the turbo back to the pan as long as the pan location was lower than the turbo outlet?

ONly problem with a gravity feed is under hard acceleration the oil will puddle back by the turubo and push oil past the bearings craeting a nice smoke show, from what I have read on tech. I will be going with all braided stainless to do away with the rubber crap, I dont like the idea of just using rubber hose it gets holes and tears in ti too easy. I realize it may be a bit overkill but hte thought of oil hitting m hot exhaust just doesnt sound good and I do take the truck offraod every once in a while.

As always....I reserve the right to be wrong. The brain was a bit foggy last night.
