There is no immediate "danger" to the truck. Have you checked the EVAP line from the back of the motor to the solenoid? Have you checked the o-ring at the solenoid into the manifold? You MIGHT be looking at dropping the tank if those items check out. Try clearing the code, it is possible that you DID have a loose gas cap and the code will not be set again.
