Default Radix Setup

Hey all, so i've been doing quite a bit of reading on the radix setup. I just got a slightly used one. It came off a 4.8 so it has a 3.4" pulley. My current setup is a 6.0 with a magnaflow muffler, 28k miles. From all the reading Ive decided to run a 90mm TB and modified j-tube, plus a cold air box. It seems those add horsepower and also lower the IATs my next question is what size pulley to run I'm thinking a 3" but i don't want to go too small and run too much boost, I need the motor to last me another 40k before I rebuild. Also I do a lot of my driving at high elevations 5-11k feet so detonation is more of a problem.

thanks
Kurt

Kurt, you will be fine with a 3.0 pulley at elevation. The 3.0 should net you about 7 psi on the 6.0 maybe -1psi at 11K feet. The 90mm tube and TB is a good idea if you are looking for some more performance, there have been documented gains in the 40-50 rwhp range from this mod. As long as you get the calibration checked with a wideband, and dont get greedy with the boost your motor will last forever.

You wont have to worry about det. as much as the sea level guys. We have thin air here which makes our fuel requirements not so much an issue. If 3.0 pulley makes 7psi at sea level you'll more than likely make 5-6 psi here. Damn I hate thin air!!

Hey, Well I'm planing on getting it dyno tuned after the install, after talking ot the guy at magnacharger I would need to buy a whole new superchips tuner which hardy seems worth it compared to having it tuned specifically for my truck...thats why I want to do the 90mm and cold air box right off the bat so that the tune is setup for the setup that I am going to run...also the Magnacharger guy told me I had 43lb injectors. Does that sound right, and will those work well with the 3" pulley and the 90mm tb??
thanks
Kurt

Ive been told that if you go any lower than 3" you may want to go to the 60lbers,but as long as you have the proper tuning and 255 walbro in there and are not drag racing every weekend you shoul be fine, just my opinion
