I have a 408 with a 224/231 .595/.595 114 and was going to install the GT-76 but was told it was too small for the 408 so I am currently looking for a bigger turbo. Is my cam going to be good for my FI setup once the turbo goes in?

My understanding is that you don't want to have the intake and exhaust valves open at the same time at all on a FI setup otherwise you push air into the intake and is goes out the exhaust side. I think that is why they say no overlap is good for FI. Also, heard that you don't want a lot of duration just more lift especially on the exhaust side.

I dont know what turbo I will buy, I am just running ideas through my head right now. I have never had anything or built anything that was FI so this is new to me and I want to learn all I can about it before I just jump into a build.

so from what I understand right now, I will want a split duration cam, bigger on the exhaust side, pretty good lift, also bigger on the exhaust side and around a 114 LSA (maybe more?) I also dont want a large duration cam that will require me to turn much more than 6K rpm for maximum power....am I on the right track?

Yup, your on the right track. Rule of thumb for FI cam choice.

n2o/supercharger... Long duration with wide lsa.

Turbo... Short to medium duration, exhaust can be shorter, with wide lsa.

Keep it on the smaller side for N/A cruising and let the turbo(s) make the big power.

Just to give you an idea of a Pat G cam. Daily driver in a heavy CCSB, relatively smooth idle, 9.5:1 compression forged 370 with AFR225 heads. Something that will work for 12lbs around town and up to 18 at the strip.

218/222, .59x"/.59x", 116+1 LSA with -12 degrees of overlap.

No results yet but it feels great out of boost. I just broke the motor in and I am staying out of boost till I get a chance to get it tuned.

Pat G will get the dynamic c/r right which will make all the difference in the world when you're out of boost. Throw enough boost at it and just about any cam CAN make descent power. The trick is getting it to run right in all realms.

I'm running a 230 ish on 50 even split, right at 600 lift on a 114 lsa. Mp76 mm Stock cube 6.0. I think I'm giving up bottom end and I'm not spinning it high enough to take advantage of the top end. Not happy with my cam choice. I'm looking into the reverse splits, but like you I don't know how big is to big.
