How do i tell what a good FI cam is? Just from what i have gathered, a close split duration, big lift and a large LSA, am i right? I am thinking about an iron block ls1, 317 heads with a 76mm turbo and want to pick a nice big(ish) cam for it, not over about .600" lift though. give me some numbers to think about. Thanks

Duration has much more bearing on power than lift does. Also its overlap that matters with FI cams not just the split and lsa. More overlap is a direct byproduct of a wide lsa.

You quite simply run it by Pat G and see what he thinks. The best 25 bucks you'll ever spend.....other than if you catch Glenlivet scotch on sale...

Why not 226/230 114lsa with .600 lift on both sides? 0 overlap, should sound mean with low idle speed, and should make enough power on mild boost to break lots of sheet. Keep this quiet....it's a "secret" grind....

That kinda gets back to the match between turbo, vehicle weight, manny/auto tranny, gear ratio, boost level, etc. Makes me want to get the input of a pro. Reverse split cams are a tough sell. How many cams have you seen with more duration on the exhaust side? N/a, s/c, turbo. Maybe a custom grind, but you'll be hard pressed to find an off the shelf grind with more on the intake side////? It might be better, but we're too dumb to know.
