Default running an intercooled under the truck-

hey guys im having a hard time finding a place to put an intercooler on my custom sts set-up- im thinking about running it like the machperformance kit but im lowered 3" and its a little scary

like this http://www.machperformance.com/cgi-b...-10&img=1&tn=1

i was wondering if i could do that just under the truck inline with intake tubing running between the frame rails. do you guys think this is possible?

The hot rodders have radiators running along their frame rails, I don't see why you couldn't run an intercooler there also, just wouldn't have the High flow of air, also when in traffic you would have little to no air passing over them

Thats how the procharger kits are on the full size trucks. They have a flap that runs across the back of the intercooler to help direct air up through the intercooler. I may add a couple of fans to mine one day. There is another post in this section where fans were added to this type of setup and it dropped iat's a decent amount.

I had mine down there but with an angled scoop added to it, the thing was barely ever warm to the touch after back to back runs.

What is the reason for not notching the frame an inch or 2 and sliding it in a good location? Faster you go, more air it gets!
