RCSB. 4500 lb race weight. It tips the scales around 5200-5300 as a daily driver. I work out of it on a daily basis.

You'll have to cut the hood, but the pipe sticking out looks cool
No problems on clearance.

It may look a little high on the engine stand, but it's fine in the truck.

5oo hp is fairly routine with a stock bottom end and a built tranny.
an sts or radix with all the latest stuff, cam, meth, good tuning and a built tranny is
not a big reach, but 700 hp is a big reach and needs lots of cash and carefully selected hardware to get there.
your tranny should be a 4l65e, which is a good place to start.
there are lots of guys on here with 6.0 litres making good power.
Wanna talk $, i'd say 10-12k for blower/turbo, tranny upgrade, tuning, cam, gauges and monitoring software, meth kit, headers and cat-back, 90mm tb, freight etc. , more if you pay someone to do the work and tuning.
another thing that nobody talks about much is noise, if it's a daily driver it's a thing to consider, I personally don't like the noise my Radix makes when it goes from vacuum to boost but that's the nature of the beast.
You could be a tester for us all and try a Rotrex.
http://www.rotrex.com/ from w2w.com

Hope this helps, and I do know from experience.....it's all a money pit.
This post actually helps a lot. I have a dyno-proven on my 2002 escalade now. Would it be easier to step the boost up on this, or should I just start from scratch? I really want a turbo setup.

I actually posted this in the other link, but how difficult would it be for this turbo to kick out 10-15psi with an intercooler, or alky injection?

Thanks to blownchevy for the phone conversation. You seemed totally unbiased with your help, and I greatly appreciate the references you gave for the engine builds. I look forward to my next turbo/supercharger purchase from you, so have one in stock for me! For everyone else in the forums, I definitely recommend his expertise.

Yea, I hear that BlownChevy guy knows a little about engines

Whatever you decide on, keep us posted. I've seen a few guys come on here as newbies, ask questions and start a build and never report back . Even if you post up on other forums, we at PT.net would like to hear how it turns out.

I have no problem doing that. I don't mind spending the money, but I only like to buy once. Now....do you guys think a stock 4l80e can handle 500-700 hp? If I go with the radix or sts, that will be my end result.

500hp would be no problem with a shift kit, 700 would be pushing it IMO.
