OK, I'm rebuilding the rear mount on the 8.1. I have a few questions. Im planning on leaving my muffler on this time. Its a flowmonster...same as a straight thru Magnaflow. VERY straight thru! It is a single 3" into dual 2.5" exits. Im thinkin of running the turbo off of ONE of the exits in the muffler. And using the other exit as the wastegate housing. What do you guys think? here is a sketch of what Im thinkin.

I thought that but Tierod had a Flowmaster before his turbo...and we all know how restrictive a flowmaster is. And his 8.1L rear mount is wicked. So im contemplating....

 

put V bands on everything !!!!!!!!!!! so you will beable to switcheroo when your not happiez

 

I would go with a 5" tailpipe with a turbo'd 8.1

 

i think that set-up is going to be restrictive on a 8.1... cleaver idea about the muffler, but i would get one thats 3" at all ends.. and id say atleast a 4" tailpipe..

 

Tierods flowmaster looked like a plump watermelon after a year of driving it. He pulled the flowmaster off and said it felt like it gained 100hp

 

dude !... this is the worse idea ever for a rear mount setup.... This is why people build them and they SUCK !! and this is why people make fun of rear mounts... because a kit like this will be lucky to gain any sorta power and spool as fast as a dump truck !!!...

 

"Yeah Well" I had the rear mount on with dual 3" ALL THE WAY to the turbo and I made NO BOOST at all in 1st and 2nd gear!!! NONE, and I mean absolutey f'ing none! Sucked! Was slow as **** on take off, worse than stock! 0-50 felt like SH*T! So I HAVE TO change something! I build what I WANT, not what I can PAY someone to, so I'll learn by mistake, not by spending a wad of $$$$ for someone else to do it. If it sucks...then so be it, I'll change it, if it works...then DAMN

I love this forum but as far as asking questions and just getting a$$hole answers like yours, well it makes me sick! Thats what this site is for, LEARNING!! Thanks for all the Serious answers I got from the others. I'll post up as to either way I go. I might just take the muffler off and run the 3'' corsa pipe into the turbo, see how that does. I need to rid of the 1st annd 2nd lag I had last time.
