Moregrip must have been really boared to dig that one up. He is jealous because his are wider. That guy turned the pulleys down so they just fit the 6 rib belt. The pulleys are actually made for Cobras and Lightenings that have 8 rib belts.

that looks great...are there any more specs for the spacer that needs to be made? or is it just like the magnacharger idler spacer that you could call magnacharger and buy one from them?

"Pulley wrap".

I'm guessing that means that with the bigger pulleys below the sc pulley the belt pulls more staight down on the sc pulley which allows the belt to have more area of contact with the blower pulley and consequently maybe spins the sc more efficiently and moves more air?

... and maybe with more wrap there's less chance of throwing the belt and tearing up the hood insulator... LIKE I JUST DID?
This sounds like something I might want to do while I'm torn down.

Mark... the site you linked to shows a 90mm and a 100mm pullley. Which would I want?

What idler spacer? What am I missing?

the spacer is just like the magnacharger idler spacer on the passenger side, you'll need two, and I'm not sure you will be able to buy it seperately as that bracket comes as an assembly from magnacharger.

they have the same rear indexing and bearing series (6207) as the stock Radix pulleys (Dayco makes the plastic/metal ones). Now, since they are made for a Cobra's 8rib setup the pulleys will stick out some past the belt. That doesn't bother me though, because I think it looks cool, and I may go to an 8rib pulley arrangement one day anyway. You could have the face machined down, if you so chose.
The only thing you need to do to the left idler pulley is re-use the spacer used in conjunction with the plastic pulley(the lipped one) and bolt her up, clearance is tight on the outer back edge of the pulley and the Radix bracket, but there seems to be enough room to allow for metal expansion (obviously, tolerances permitting). On the right side, the only extra step, is, you'll need to machine another spacer to the exact spec of the left idler pulley spacer, the OD on the stock metal pulley spacer is to large to fit the ID of the pulley (I suppose you could turn that one down instead of making a new one though).

So far all is well, but if you decide to do this, you play at your own risk
bump for JimS

I know I'm going to sound like a dammed dummy but I guess the shoe fits

What is an idler "spacer"?

I guess what I really want to know is... If I ordered the two pulleys what else would need to be changed? Thanks, Jim (damm.. you get up early!)
