Radix intercooler pump ???
#1
im fixing to make a bigger intercooler resevoir and was planning on mounting it on the frame rail right infront of the engine this way it would get cool air to it and itd be out of the way. my question is how could i mount the pump. i was thinking that i could weld a barbed fitting into the box on the side of the box towards the bottom and just lay the pump on the frame rail and mount it there. but is the pump gonna do ok like that? or do i need to have the pump under the box like it is from Magnacharger? all advice is welcome, thanks.

I'd think as long as the pump is under (lower) than the resevoir it'll be fine. Pumps can usually pump upstream easily, they just dont suck very good. so as long as you have a head of fluid feeding it it'll be good.

well it wont be lower than the whole thing but about level with the bottom of it. ill mount the pump right beside it on the same frame rail. it will be pulling out of the side of the box near the bottom. would that be close enough?

I don't know how low you are going to be, but I think if the resevoir is below the level of the core it in the radix, when not pumping all the water is going to seek the lowest level and thats the resevoir. so you'll need a sealed cap on it.
