Radix idler pulleys out of alignment
#1
Hey guys the belt is riding on the very back of the idler pulleys and squealing like crazy.
It looks like it needs to come forward by 1 or 1.5mm. I tried to do a search but didn't find much. I saw something about grinding a part behind the bracket so the idlers line up properly, but they weren't very specific and I don't remember this in the instructions.
I also saw something about putting a spacer behind the Radix pulley to bring it in line. Mine has been like this forever, but the cold weather really makes it squeal and I'm sick of it.
Please let me know which method is best.

can you take a picture of what bracket it is. because i had a problem installing the idler on the new style bracket for a buddy. i took the idler off and filed the lip a little bit where the bearing is supposed to sit flush against, after i filed it a little bit, i tightened the idler back on there again, and it went on alot further. like i said, let me see a picture or something

is your blower pulley on the right way? cuz there's more backspacing on one side of the pulley than the other, if it is then you may have to get a spacer for the blower or something. when i was having issues, it was with the other idler, but it was making both idlers have the belt ride on the edge of the idler

Hey turbo, the pulley not in the picture is the one with the belt actually hanging off the back, but it's only hanging off by a hair. Maybe 1/4 of a mm. I just took that pic so the other guy could see which bracket I have. The one in the pic is not hanging off, but the belt needs to come forward slightly on it as well.
How did you fix yours?
Also, my snout pulley is on the right way, but I think it may be aftermarket.

K, well did u take the spacer and the washer behind the spacer off the idler before you bolted it onto the bracket? If u didn't, that's the problem, if you did, make sure that the pulley is actually flush against the bracket. I had a problem not getting the pulley to snug up over the outer lip. I had to file that lip down a bit and then the pulley finally tightened till it was flush. Hope this helps u out cuz that's the same bracket I was having issues with

I have no idea what you're talking about. I bought the kit used. I will take the idler off and check for the spacer you mentioned.
Is this spacer on both idlers? Or just one?
Thanks for the help.
EDIT: I think you're talking about the one not in my picture. I will take it off and see if that lip is interfering.

The only one u should have to worry about is the one that u had to bolt into the alternator bracket on the drivers side of the blower.take the idler off and take a pic of what's on the back
