Default Radix cam

So yes I did a search, but a lot has changed in the past couple of years with turbos becoming so much more popular and several new cams and new models of superchargers coming out.

What is everyone using now?

I know the GT2-3 used to be the most common here, but LPE has since come out with the GT7 and they also recommend the LS9 now.

What do you guys think? Is the GT2-3 still a good choice?

I have an LQ4 with a Radix and 3000 stall. Stock heads. Anyone have a video of a GT2-3 in an LQ4?

No need for a vid, it will sound stock. With a radix on a 6.0 you will want to have min. Overlap because its a small compressor for the 6L and you will be limited on boost.

Is the GT2-3 a good minimal overlap cam?

It has negative overlap, doesnt get much better for a LQ4 and radix, gotta save every ounce of boost oyu can with that combo. It just happens thats what I have, just havent strapped the blower on yet

The other one to consider is the late model LS6 cam. I ran it for quite a while on a similar setup. If you made me chose an off the shelf/readily available cam, that would be it. They used to be available for next to nothing. Now, they cost next to nothing plus about 200 bucks.

fwiw, I had some basic engine dynamics software that I spec'd out a 220/230 .580/.580 on a 116LSA straight up that performed rather well.....in the program anyway!

Moregrip, those are almost the exact specs I had in mind for a Radix boosted LQ4. Easy on the springs with lots jam all around. A 3000 rpm converter would make it sing!

i have had the gt7..i did not like it. felt flat in the mid range. i really liked a bullet cam i had fora while before a comp lifter killed it. it was 224/228 .605/.605 114

now i have a 224/230 .595/.595 116. makes good power off and on boost.

Did your GT-7 pick up after 4500rpms? Mine feels flat until that rpm range..
