Race gas & a/f's?

im heading to moroso the 31st for the event going on there.
im gonna be running race gas and 13psi. my truck has a safe tune for 10psi right now. i was wondering how lean i could run 13psi on with racegas on the 10psi tune. i was thinking 11.8 to 12.0 to get the most power i could out of it.

i have adjusted my a/f ratio around a litte. i would say 11.8 for the leanest but i didn't see any significant hp gain going from a safe 11.3-11.5 up to ~12.0/1.
if you run it on the edge there isn't any room for messing up. one other thing you probably know is the race gas might start off a lot different a/f ratio. even though you are thinking about going a little leaner you might still have to add fuel to get there. the 118 race fuel we have localy is really light and you need to run a little more of it.

cool thanks man. i figured i would spend a night before the track screwing with the FMU on race gas to get the a/f right.....
ill just stay with the 11.5 to 11.8 range.
also this is a little off topic. but would a water/water wetter mix for coolant really help with keeping the truck cool?

dont mean to hijack, but would it benefit me to put race gas in my truck if its not tuned for it. i know if its tuned itll show good gains with the radix, but i cant get it retuned right now and im fixing to head to the track sat. and wanted to know if it would help to throw some racegas in there.

im gonna just go fill the entire cooling system with water and put 3 bottles of straight water wetter in it and see how that goes.
my t-stat is a 160* and i got a stock clutch fan. it goes up to about 180 @ the staging lane and 210 @ the end of the run im trying to get the thing to stay around 160 to 170 @ the end of the run or basically no change.

It depends on the race gas you will be using. With C16 I have found on 700hp turbo V6's that leaning it out from 12.0 to 12.5 was worth 50hp at the wheels. To play it safe I would run it in the 12.0 range. The biggest thing I have to change is timing. C16 burns so cold you have to add at least 10 degrees of timing in boost to take advantage of it. It loved 30psi with 28 degees of timing on my truck but if you do not tune for it you might not gain anything with it.
