Default question about injectors with turbo on stock motor

hey guys I have a few questions. Right now my truck "04 ecsb 5.3 auto" has a cold air kit, exhaust, street tune, and a 75 shot. it runs 9.30's 9.40's in the eigth. I am not looking for allout performance because this is my everyday/ tow pig for my race car, but it is fun to drive and beat up stock mustangs

I was looking at going to a trick performance turbo kit. I am looking to keep the motor stock and run about 6-8 lbs. My question is will I have to get new injectors? new fuel pump? and will the stock motor handle this boost level?

thanks

Drew

I think you could get away with stockers on 6 psi. I ran 10 psi with the procharger and stock injectors. I would think injectors would be cheaper than meth though. Theres alot of guys on here that will sell their used 42's for cheap.

i would say get 42's for to be safe. there cheap enough. i'm still runing my stock fuel pump also with 10lb's. although i do have meth but i even before the meth i still had 10lb's. take a look around on the site and you can make your own opinion of the stock motor strength. lots and lots of boosted 5.3l's on here.

Hello Drew, and thank you for concidering our product. I would recommend you go ahead and get some 42lb injectors, direct plug ins no worries about cutting the harness etc. 6-8 lbs. is very safe I think and really a good starting point. But alot of customers start there and end up around 10+.
Fuel pump I like to wait and see approach.

Let me know if there is anything I can do for you.

Rick

My 6.0L was using 42lbers and 10psi and still had room. It shows that each truck out there is different. This is also why air fuel gauge is a must...
are those the 60's that are direct plug in?

i've got the 42's and a stock pump on my whippled 5.3. the injectors should be fine for 10 lbs. or less and the stock pump has held 9 lbs. and a 50 shot with no pressure drop so far. what part of GA you in?

Thanks Rick.

Oh and thanks for the help on the wiring with the mini progressive setup on my race car. If you remember you had to help me wire in an interupter relay for the transbrake
