Question about heads on a turbo 5.3?
#1
Hey guys, Im new to the forum. I was wondering if It would be in my best interest to put the ported and polished 5.7 241 heads I have in my garage on my 5.3 thats going in my s10, I know it will drop my compression to around 9.0:1 but will that benifit me for use with pump gas? My goal is have a somewhat reliable 10 sec pump gas "street truck" and I use that term sparingly as the only street time that the truck will see is going to local meets. I guess back to my question, to meet my goal would it be more suitable for me to run the stock 5.3 heads or would the ported 241 heads be better. Heres a little info on my setup i am going to be running. MP70 turbo 224/224 581 581 with a 114 lsa cam, prc valve springs, arp rod bolts and a
TH400 trans with a 3200 stall.
Any help will be great!

use the ported heads. will get you closer to your goal and on the street for now. running a turbo, you can just turn up the boost. if you cant reach your goal, then you can look for a better set of heads later. am sure your trying to work with what you got now. good luck with the project and post pics and results as you can
