Default Procharger Pulley size question

Hey guys, I'm working on getting all my ducks in a row before I install the procharger I just bought. It's a p1sc-1 and it's going on my 6.2 sierra. The kit came with a 4.5" pulley. The tech I spoke with at procharger who said my truck with 1 7/8" longtubes and 3.5/4" exhaust will only make about 2lbs with the 4.5" pulley. With my goal of 8lbs of boost the tech recommended a 3.85" pulley. Does this sound accurate? Thanks in advance guys.

3.85 might be pushing it.

I agree with the tech. A 4.5" pulley on a stock 6.2 probably won't make much boost. Start with a 4" to be safe and see where that gets you. It's much easier to change pulleys than motors.

I would go with the 3.85 to start.

Well what is your crank diameter and what is p1 max rpm (58k i think). With a 3.85 where will that put you?

Compression on motor.? How much do you trust your tune? Are you running meth?

I think you would probably be maxed out on a 3.5 so dropping all the way down to a 3.85 from the start might be a bit ambitious, but if you want to i got an 8 rib 3.85 ill sell you.

I'd just like to do it once. Put it on, tune it, drive it. If I'd be better off starting with a 4" it's all good, that's why I'm asking.

If your running a stock size crank pulley then the 3.85 should get you get you close to that range. I had a 3.8 on my 6.0 and it didn't make 10 lbs with the P1. The 4.0 will make less boost. Your running a free flowing exhaust, good flowing heads. Boost is a restriction, so more isn't necessarily better.
