Default Please help me spec a turbo for my 4.8L

This will be a single turbo 4.8L build with a triple 12 cam. I want to make 800whp with this set up. So from the reading I've done, it look like I need to be anywhere from a 72-76mm compressor for that small of an engine. I know a lot of you guys like the borg warner stuff but what about turbonetics. I can buy turbonetics at a pretty big discount so I was leaning in that direction. Most of the turbonetics stuff has there F1-68mm turbine wheel. Will that be a restriction at 800hp or is it perfect for the cubes I'm running? I want an all around solid turbo that will perform well from 600hp and up. Thanks guys

Gonna be tough with a 68 wheel. I am
Up to actual true size of their wheels nor their flow.
It should spool nice but final air flow. ???
I rate the 67 magnums at the 650 range. Long way away from 800.

Might look into the 75 wheel stuff.

Rick, are you a fan of turbonetics or would you steer me in a different direction?

S475 should meet your goals and have room to grow...great price too if you go with a t6

I think there is a 72mm compressor too. Everyone on here has great luck with the BW's. Where do I find a price on one of these turbos?

T6 S475 will cost you under $800(dirty cheap for what it is) and will make up to around 900hp if you have a well speced build. You will need good heads, lots of boost, plenty of fuel, and well done tuning to hit your goals in a 4.8

Would a t6 be too much for the 4.8L? And what is the difference in the S400X3 and S400X4 borg warners?

Try Reed @ Work turbo or Jose@ Forced inductions. Both can spec a turbo for your goals and get you the best price. S400Sx3-75 is the borg warner nomenclature for the 75mm inducer compressor 83mm turbine unit...

S400Sx4-75 is the same compressor with with 96/1.32 hotside.

Gotcha. I'm thinking 83mm turbine would be the biggest I would want to go. And I can't imagine that the 4.8L would be able to spool a t6 turbo, but I am new to this stuff so obviously chime in and tell me where I'm going wrong
