Placement of Regulator for STS boost controller?
#1
I've seen a couple of your guys set ups in here and I'm going to be finishing installing my 2 stage STS controller tomorrow.
The two I've seen are in the passenger wheel well from what I recall.
The thing is I really want the regulator mounted under my dash but don't know how it will affect the boost with the return hose being so long going back to the wastegate.
I already have a line running from the wastegate to my intake manifold for my boost reference signal, so one line is already under my hood now.
I want to keep the regulator close at hand for adjustment, and be able to keep it clean.
It snows here and the roads are pretty shitty and very salty in winter.
Tell me what you think.
Oh ya, I have the 2 stage Electronic controller.
Thanks guys.

Couldn't you just tee off of that long run you have, somewhere near the cab. Then just run it in the cab to the regulator/noid, and then back out.
The only downside to this is it won't be as responssive if the tubing were shorter. I bet it'd be hard to notice with the butt dyno though.

I have to look back at the scematic that came with the boost controler to be sure.
I'll copy that stuff for you too when I send the other stuff.

This is Wilde's set up I think.
You can see the hoses comming off the wategate.
The one on the bottom is for boost reference, the one on the far left end of the wategate is part of the boost controller set up.
On the stock kit without a boost controller this port vents to atmosphere.
You can see the line comming out of the intake side of the turbo in this set up is where the stock STS boost reference signal comes from.
I plugged this port and get my reference signal from the intake manifold at the vacum nipple that my boost gauge is also hooked to.
I'll try and find the other pics he posted in the morning, I'm falling asleep here.
Yaaawwwwwnnnnn.
