Place to buy cheap turbo (ebay??)
#1
I want to build one of these and need a decent turbo that isnt going to blow up in my face:

I'm not going to put 100,000 miles on the thing, but I want it to be safe when I take the turbine to over 100k rpm....there are many garretts on ebay for under 250 bucks, I have posted in the classifides and have got no response. I dont want a "rebuildable" turbo since they usually are just junk and i have enough of those laying around already that need housing and wheels because there was "some shaft play"
please point me in the right direction, not extremely picky on where I buy or what I get, Just want to start on the jet project soon!!!!

That looks like it'd make a nice little jet engine.
There are a few places (ebay stores) that you can get turbos for about $200. I don't know how they are for performance, but it won't really matter since you'll be making a jet engine out of it. Just make sure you look into their feedback and what not. So how many lbs of thrust are you going for?
