Things like this are generally the fault of the installer. We have done lowered trucks, suv's and f-bodys w/o any issue like this at all.

i blame the purchaser. who could havn't NOT seen this coming. Cant really blame STS. Id sell incabin exhuasts if people would buy them.
you cant expect aftermarket to tested, true, functional, reliable, or have fit/finish as oem you would in oem. you can basically just expect output, in most cases. Headlights are a good example of this.

I'd say it would have to be the installers fault as well!! I've never heard anything like that before. Let alone have I seen a truck str8 bottom out before. Unless you rolled over a crater or sinkhole then it just doesnt make sense!!

Like I said, man that really sucks. Hope you dont have any real damage but I keep picturing a used car lot advertisement with a guy yelling "Underbody turbo, what can go wrong!"

Its easy to assume and think a product will not work or has a poor design, but if you dont have personal experience, then you really dont know.
If the truck kit is installed correctly then the frame is lower than the turbo. Even on lowered trucks, it shouldnt be an issue.
Just because its different, people think its sub-standard. Its easy to install and makes great power. There are cars in the single digits in the 1/4 and trucks in the low 11's, soon to be 10's. This kit works well and is designed well.
Everyone is absolutely entitled to an opinon, but it should be based on your experience, not something you just pull out of your ***!

I have worked on turbo cars before. I've seen many turbo build ups. Its common sense that sticking a turbo on the underbody of your car can have serious consequences.
I dont doubt the ability of the system to "work." Why the hell wouldn't it work.

Right!!! but you don't think it's just as crazy to stick a 1100 degree hunk of metal in a spot where there isnt much breathing room for it to go anyway!!?? Or better yet what about the numerous wires that run down the passenger side of the engine bay! So if you gas tank leaks and it catches fire back there wouldn't you sort of be driving away from it, rather than it exploding under your hood where your multi $$$ motor, efans, intake, MAF, etc are vulnerable to being damaged. I'm not saying there isn't flaws in the STS but there are flaws in conventional setups as well!! And to be completely bias towards it when you've never used it before is kinda ignorant!! Not tryin to bash you by any means but your talking like there has never been a problem with a traditional style turbo setup before!!

The only thing I worry about on my STS is its exposure to water and road debris.
There should be some type of shroud and or cover coming with the kit.
As well as a remote filter kit that's better than the Home Depot special they offer.
I just think for $3500.00+ the kit could be a little nicer and still not cost them much.
I for one have had no issues with water yet, just can't go through a car wash with underbody flush and feel comfortable!!
As for this oil line breaking, I'd love to see some pics of the before and after to see where it hit and come to a conclusion of why it happened and not speculate.
