Default Pin crank pulley ?

I have been searching and reading about pining the crank pulley... My question now is should I do this? I have a stock 5.3L with a Magnuson with the stock pulley on it. I have not had any problems but when I'm towing my enclosed trailer w/car it does work the supercharger on long hills...

Thoughts? Looks like it isn't a hard job to do I'm thinking it might be cheap insurance...

Thanks...

Probable not necessary with your setup, but it never hurts should you decide to pulley down.

Its easy to do and is cheap insurance. PM blownchevy or one of the sites maggie dealers. Maggie has a crank pin kit that works very well, I have used it myself.

Magna Charger sells a kit that comes with the pins, drill bit with a shoulder so you know how far to drill, and a jig to hguide ya. Always a good idea IMO.

I think its kind of like buying insurance. Problably don't need it, but it certainly won't hurt.

The trucks are pretty easy to do, if I decide to put a radix on my truck I'll pin it just because.

my .02$

um......my buddy had a LS1 5.7 and a procharger in his avalanche.......it spun the crank pulley. the 346 vette is pinned, the 427 one is keyed the suburban is pinned. Its a lil bit of a hassle but do it anyway.

Spun my 6.0L pulley w/ the procharger w/ stock pulley. I think pinning the crank is a good idea even on a stock motor.
