Well I had three choices, leave them raw, polish them, or god forbid coat them (there stainless, why coat them other than to keep them from changing colors).
Since its to be a show truck with little street time, I decided to polish them. There is a product on the market (forget its name at this time) that removes the blueing. If I don't like it, I can always send them in to have them coated.

theres one big reason to coat them....heat transfer...you want as much heat in the tubes to the turbo, that keeps the pressure up...also you want heat out of the engine compartment, the longer the tubes the more room for them to dump heat into your compartment, they also look pretty close to your hood
please, for everyone's sake don't just build a show truck, this is performancetrucks not cardoman!!!!!

I hear what you are saying on both the coating and show trucks. I know that many here seem to despise show trucks, guess I am fighting an endless battle, oh well I like a challenge

I will take the coating route under advisement, I assume I should get them coated before running them? What coating and company does the forum recommend?
The truck is being built to be a driver (not a junker show truck that can just get off the trailer, so when I have gotten tired of the circuit I can drive it like I stole it). However, I will not drive the truck as a daily driver at this time, too much money invested on this one and I already have three turbocharged daily drivers (see miy sig), so don't need yet another one. I do promise to drive it from time to time during the off season, it will not be just a pure trailer queen.

stainless is always a good choice, It is just more expensive then mild, it welds up beatifully and will last forever. I would just coat them with some silver ceramic, like the pacesetters come with, still look nice but give you lower underhood temps and prob some gains in the power area, othewise things look good...no log headers to be seen under that hood and the 65 is really a unique year to build up from, I like it.

I had the exhaust turbine housing ceramic coated shiny silver, all for not now. I purchased the motor from a person that had Nelson build it and then had money problem, he exchanged the T58's Nelson shipped with T72's. I should have ran the numbers before I sent the housing off for ceramic coating, because the T72's are too large for this project. So I am replacing them with T62's (which are being properly sized by Innovative), and the housing will not work with the T62's. It was that or replace the motor with a 406, the T62's where cheaper (free exchange)
