J's01Silverado passed CA smog with a 6.0 and similar mods. Good luck, get it good and hot before you take it in and keep us posted!

I dont know how I passed, but I did.

I did what Trever1t did and got it hot before it was tested. Just make sure the SMOG guy keep it out of boost when he puts in on the dyno.

Does a loose converter make it harder to pass since its in a higher RPM?

Probably.. but a 2600 or 2800 stall is probably not loose enough to make a big difference. I have a 2800 and it is not much different than stock until I have traction and flash it off idle.

Well i just got home and my truck passed smog at a test only place. Not only did it pass with no problem but the converter seemed to help, the RPMs were at the same 1750rpm at 15mph and 25mph.
