Wish I was closer to finishing my 5.3 turbo setup....would love to pick one of these out and try it. Might just buy one and hoard it till I get the car up and running. I wonder how comparable they are to the Turbonetics 7875 units besides the Turbonetics being ball bearing only?

Ill probably be doing the same, told myself no boost for this truck but well you know. I wouldnt be suprised if it was close because I saw on a thread about the earlier on3 turbos that the company that makes some of the parts for the turbo also supply parts to Turbonetics. If it holds up like a lot of their current turbos do and performs close to the other 7675 turbos than its def a steal.

I got one on the way. Broken 80e and the truck wont even move, why not buy a bigger turbo.

It's actually a pretty badass turbo for the price. Yeah, it won't compete with a T6 Borg unit, but the wheel specs are very similar to the S475.

78/102 Compressor
75/82 turbine

I have one on my LQ4, I'll post up some results when I get it tuned.

I am running one on an LQ4 at 9#. No dyno or track numbers and on a conservative tune. On the reliability side, I have put about 1300 miles on it. This includes a month worth of daily comutes to work (60 miles round trip) and a 400 mile one way trip back home from where the truck was put together. Subjective comments would be that it pulls very well even at that low boost level and that it spools pretty quick (full boost by 3200 rpm) with the stock 4L80 converter and 4.10 gears. Wasn't built to be a full drag race truck but rather a sport truck with some power. That it is. Overall, turbo is a good value and I intend to push it a little harder. Ultimately, I will end up with a BW billet unit once all the FI entry bugs are worked out.
