ok..dumb turbo question

ok...im not a dodge guy or a chevy guy or even a ford guy...least of all a ford guy im just a truck guy..ive been building cummins with big power for a while my daily driver is 694rwhp and right around 1400ftlb of tork.. the turbo on my street truck which is a cummins hits 60lbs of boost. but im saying goodbye to my big red rocket and am in the process of building a rclb 04 silvy 1500 and want to make it a big power truck which ill admit im not as literate on chev gassers as i am cummins motors but im not a total dummy. my question (finally) with all these 500rwhp trucks do i see these massive *** turbo sizes that are only spooling 9 to 15 or maybe 20 psi? seems to make sense to get a smaller turbo that will achieve those numbers while being cheaper smaller to save space and spool faster so less lag. dont be too hard on me if thats a rediculous question theres just a couple things im learning as i go from wrenching on diesels to gassers. btw some of the chevs on this forum are the nicest ive ever seen.

Also intake temperatures are not as much of an issue on a diesel since they operate under that principle anyway, but will wreck havoc on a gas engine when the fuel preignites.
