Post nitrous or turbo?

Hey everyone,
This is my first post outside of the new members forum but i have lurking on this site for a long time. As the title says I am trying to decide if i want to do a turbo set up or if N20 would satisfy my needs. My truck is a 99 ECSB silverado with a 5.3 and 4x4 z71 with a G80 and 3.73. my goal is low 13's high 12's.
for me the big draw from the N20 side is that my buddy will sell and help me install an NOS nitrous kit for $350. From what Ive been reading I could have the kit up adn running in 2-4hours and have it tuned by his dad. basically it could be done in an afternoon. I feel like I would need AT LEAST a 100 shot if not bigger to reach my goals.
I know that is far less time then a turbo install but a turbo is what I really want. the fact that the nitrous would be easier and cheaper is what really pulling me to it. but the inspiration for this build came from my frineds dads truck(same one that would sell me the N20 kit) who had a turbo ls1 powered 91 GMC 1500 that he ran 22psi through and picked on vettes with.
If I were to do a turbo I would do a rear mount turbo which I hear from people on here that if i plan it well i can install in a weekend. but i am interested in a front mount too.
sorry for the long post, I just want alot of opinions from the experts as to what I should do! Thank you in advance for any help given!
Sam

Iv started with n2o and its ok. Just doesn't last very long and its gets old refilling bottles. I now have a t 76 front mount on and I love it. Don't have to turn on any switches or bottles to go fast. Just mash the skinny peddle!

Nitrous is only on when you push that button, and it'll run out. A turbo is on all the time, and I think you would like that a lot better! Both will help you reach your goal but I think youd be more satisfied with the turbo and have the power available with the push of the throttle. And after deciding to go turbo I would go with a front mount. A rear mount is fine but eliminate the electric oil pump that can fail. A front mount only would take a few hours more work if that, and I don't know of any drawbacks to this method. If you think about underhood temps I wouldn't worry about it, none of my pipes are wrapped and I've had zero problems.

You said yourself you want to go turbo, so if you can acquire the funds then do it! If you can't acquire the funds play with the bottle, you can always sell it.

or buy the nitrous kit now and play for a little bit til you get enough for a turbo kit and then use nitrous on top of boost lol. but, if you do do nitrous youre more than likely gonna need more than just a 100 shot. Is anything done to the truck as of now? One more thing, if youre gonna play with anything you better start saving for a rearend and tranny.

Take your time bro!!

Its easy to get excited i know!

But i wouldnt rush into a nitrous kit first,

Take your time a piece together a front mount turbo kit.

Do it once and do it right and you will enjoy it a lot better man!!

We will help ya, Get ahold of KB Racing Or Trick for some very reasonably priced turbo kits.

Id go boost. Nitrous gets expensive and by the time you fill the bottles a few times it would have paid for a few turbo parts lol

Nitrous isn't not cheaper. It does look that way. But if figure the cost if refills and the cost of all the safety stuff u should have it gets up there real quick.
Nitrous us really like a credit card with bad interest.

Starts off small and after a year you spent a bunch of coin and if u ever resale it. You lost all that investment.
1 refill 45.00+
And the down time.

I would go turbo front mount. And would recommend our 1 if our kits.

Didn't put both in there as a option. That gets my vote.
