New Truck!

You're so optimistic. LOL!
I was thinking about it and I'm sorry for bashing the whole 10 second daily driver. It would be cool as hell to have something like that. I think most of my frustrations stem from the fact that I'd like to have a similar vehicle but for the last 3 years I haven't been able to spend the money.
I could have expressed my ideas better. Keep dreaming, anything's possible. Keep us posted if you do make some moves.

Well there is the first F*ing problem I see, you are getting your information from a bunch of tools. EVERY SINGLE GrandPrix owner I have met that "mod" their car tends to be the "dumb ricers of domestics."
While the times/HP you are wanting to reach ARE attainable, your expectations are NOT.
As others have said, to obtain the numbers you state you might as well plan on replacing 100% of your drive train (engine, tranny, and rearend). Then you still need to keep in mind that you are no longer dealing with a "daily driver".
To take a 4500lb+ truck and make it run those times is going to result in the same "type" of vehicle as a single digit (9s) F-body and from personal experience they are NOT daily drivers. Would suggest rethinking a bit.

You can have a 10 sec 4900lb daily driver, but you need the best of parts, and AAA. You also need something else to fall back on when it breaks. I like the turbo best because you can go run 10's on the weekend, and turn it down for the daily commute.

I'm surprised that nobody has touched on this yet! You guys are showing alot of restraint!!
In any case alot of people have given a lot of good advice and KBRacing and Trick both have good kits so if it's turbo you want then you have a few options.
Also don't forget fuel system which can run you a few G's on top of everything. I don't think you'll find it easy to make a DD in the 10's, I'd settle for high to mid 11 second running truck and you'll have yourself a reliable DD. Best of luck!

Having a 10 second daily driver is a breakdown waiting to happen no matter what you're using. You'll spill your stock bottom end or blow your tranny all over the road in less than 20,000 miles.
To run those times with as much reliability as possible you'd better have atleast $12,000 sitting around waiting to be spent.
Anything is possible but it's not cheap.

Good luck doing anything like this on a budget of $12,000. A tranny/converter that will hold up to 10's will end up costing close to half that. Add in the turbo kit, a motor that will hold up, a rear end and supporting mods to make it all work and your looking at closer to $20,000. I've got $22,000 in mine (drive line only) and it only runs mid 11's.
