New dyno numbers for the 383

Yes, the blower is the limiting factor. I believe this is as far as the 1900 can go. The next big purchase will be a bigger blower. I'd like to put on a 2300 and see what another 4 or 5 lbs of boost can do. It might see around 630rwhp on 91 octane and a small spray of meth.
This setup is only making 10lbs boost on the 383 with fairly large ports. On a stockish 6.0 you'd get around 12.5-13 psi, but please prove me wrong. The 1900 with these pulleys is near perfect for the 6 litre.

You think you would only see an additional 50 HP from 5#... that seems way too low. I would think damn near 100 HP from an additional 5.
Either way it would be a complete beast.

You might be right. I'm usually conservative in my estimates. That way I'm surprised when it turns out better.
I need to find a set of stickier tires though, 4 wheel spin is becoming a problem.

What wheels do you run? I was thinking of going with a 285/60r17 on my stock denali wheels and using them at the track. The toyo is supposed to be a decent tire, and i figure the small added width couldnt hurt.
Also, I'm pretty sure TimZ ran the 2.7 with the OD 8 rib for a little while on his cam only LQ4 short block... i'll have to look back and see what kind of boost he was making.

The Toyo's are the best tires I've owned. They always hooked well and seem to last forever, even after hundreds of burnouts. They don't powder off like some do and they look good. I just want to try something different.
I will try and get a pic or two up tonight.

Sorry to bring back an older thread... but these goodyears might be something to look into. They aren't as hard so most likely wont last as long, but being a softer tire they will hopefully help grip off the line. They also are 5# lighter per tire... that can't hurt
