I think you are correct. There is a titan guy that wired the locker to a switch that he could turn on and off in 2wd and 4w hi. I think its called austins mod. the catch is he ended up shattering the rear end not too long after. Aparently Nissan didn't design it to hold the stress of high rpm speeds/high force on the wheels

here is the link

http://www.austinm.net/titan/elock.html

I think this was the thread where he did it, and later on told how it shattered the rear

Good luck with it

I'm still debating between the trd tacoma, nismo frontier, and the colarado z71

The colorado didn't over impress me, but since its GM it has decent aftermarket support, espicially compared to the tacoma and fontier

You could just swap in a Lsx. That'd be fun!

not to sure bout the one tire fire, ive never had traction issues, the xterra has a D44, but thats behind the m/t, pretty sure you have to have the off road package or a m/t to get that diff. and im pretty sure its stuffed with a limited slip, wouldnt see why it would be different in the truck, its that same damn thing

If you have an auto or nismo you dont have the D44... You have a C200 which isnt a bad rear end and as for a locker this guys is workin on one for us... Also we got some good mods for these trucks as well like and intake spacer, Crank pulley, power steeing,pulley.. With those bolt ons these trucks throw out bigger numbers that sandys frontier with the stillen charger on it.. If you have any questions about these trucks let me know

C200, got it.....I'll look into the other mods, so you say bolt ons are showing bigger numbers than her blown frontier?
