To naturally aspirate or force induce

OK, I have been doing a good deal of reading on the forum here so far. I would like to ask for your opinions.
I have about 6K to spend on the engine of my truck:
2000 4.8L 2wd ecsb 1500
I want to know. Should I go ahead and buy a TC/SC or buy a 6.0L and build it up a little bit? I can get a complete 6.0 for around 2K or the TC/SC for around 5K.
I'm not looking for an all out race truck. Just something that is fast that I could drive everyday.
all opinions welcome,
Jake

Here's something I've always heard and it might be some fuel for thought. Let's say you have a boosted 4.8L and a NA 6.0L with heads/cam etc. If they make the same power #'s, the FI engine will be faster. Evidently this can become more relavant if you get higher DA's where you live.

I vote for sticking with the 4.8L and getting a Radix. That short stroke motor seems to be able to take a nice amount of boost and you can get up to or over 10 psi pretty easily. I think that would be mighty fun to drive.
Then, when you've had your fun and finally blow up the motor, you can stick a six liter in there, bolt the Radix back on (which should still have plenty of useful miles left on it) and do it all over again.

something to think about is a 4.8 with a radix will get around stock mileage when you are not in boost while the 6.0 will suck a lot of gas all the time. there could be a diference of 5mpg between the 2 set ups.
just a 6.0, stall and tuning make for a fun to drive truck and doesn't cost much.
lots of options huh

I've never experienced this, but I keep hearing it. The only thing/reason behind this theory is that the FI engine doesn't have to strive for air, its fed all the air it needs. But then again who knows, too many variables. Sounds like a good magazine test though.
Go with the boosted 4.8, then when you beat up NA 5.3/6.0's you can rub it in thier face.
